Governor Ododo Presents First Class Staff of Office to Akinrin of Ekinrin, Oba Kolade Otitoju

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, has called for enhanced collaboration with traditional institutions to foster development and peaceful coexistence across the state. Governor Ododo made this appeal while presenting the First Class Staff of Office to the Akinrin of Ekinrinland, His Royal Highness, Oba Johnson Kolade Otitoju, at the Government House in Lokoja.

Governor Ododo praised the rich cultural heritage of the Ekinrin community and urged Oba Otitoju to use his new role to promote peace and unity among the people. He highlighted the importance of traditional rulers in supporting community policing initiatives and attracting investors to their communities, which he believes will spur rapid development.

The Governor emphasized the crucial role traditional institutions play in maintaining moral values and assured that his administration is committed to supporting these institutions as custodians of culture and tradition. He also cautioned against the indiscriminate sale of land to individuals posing as investors, urging communities to be vigilant in protecting their resources.

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Salami Ozigi Deedat, also commended Governor Ododo’s dedication to equity and justice, congratulating the new Akinrin and encouraging the community to cooperate with their traditional leader for continued peace and prosperity.
