Governor Otu Approves Recruitment of Healthcare Professionals
In a decisive move to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in Cross River State, Governor Bassey Otu has approved the recruitment of 31 medical doctors, 22 pharmacists, and 153 nurses. This step comes as part of the administration’s commitment to enhancing the health sector’s capacity and service delivery.
State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk, announced the new appointments, highlighting the significant gap in healthcare personnel relative to the state’s population. The addition of these new professionals is expected to bridge the manpower deficit and improve clinical activities in state-owned health facilities. This decision underscores Governor Otu’s dedication to improving healthcare services and addressing the needs of Cross Riverians.
