Governor Otu Calls for Increased Military Presence in Cross River State
Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State emphasized the need for heightened military presence across the state during a meeting with Study Group 4, Senior Course 46 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna State, Nigeria.
Addressing the visiting delegation, Governor Otu underscored the necessity for increased military and technical support in Cross River State. He highlighted the state’s geographical significance, bounded by other African countries and possessing one of Nigeria’s longest coastlines, necessitating bolstered security measures.
Pointing out the extensive boundaries – encompassing land, air, and maritime zones – Governor Otu stressed the importance of augmenting the military presence to curb border skirmishes effectively.
Expressing pleasure at the selection of Cross River for the study tour, Governor Otu emphasized the urgency for improved collaboration to fortify the state’s security framework.
Governor Otu commended the Armed Forces’ crucial role in national security, stability, and safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity. He urged Nigerians to take pride in their Armed Forces, acknowledging the sacrifices made by brave personnel to maintain the country’s unity.
