Governor Otu Decorates Nine Police Officers
Governor Senator Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State has officially decorated nine police officers with their new ranks in a ceremony held at his temporary office. The officers, who were elevated from Inspectors to Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP II), received their promotions based on recommendations from the Inspector-General of Police through the Police Service Commission (POLSCOM).
During the event, Governor Otu commended the promotion as a significant achievement and a reminder of the police force’s commitment to public service. He urged the newly promoted officers to uphold high moral standards and diligently perform their duties.
The officers promoted include Victor Reuben, Turkey Odozi, Kingsley Usanga, Familola Ojo, Emega Ero, Adi Ayapere, Chollon Yohanna, Theresa Afolabi, and Micheal Eni. Commissioner of Police Gyogon Augustine Grimah emphasized that this promotion marks a critical transition to greater responsibilities and expected improvements in performance from the officers.
Micheal Eni, one of the newly promoted officers, expressed gratitude to Governor Otu and the Inspector-General of Police, pledging to deliver exceptional service. The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar.
