Governor Otu’s Vision for Home-Grown School Feeding Programme in Cross River
Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has announced the formal disengagement of vendors associated with the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme from 2016 to 2023. This decision aligns with the governor’s vision to revitalize the program and enhance its effectiveness in the state.
In a press release signed by Mr. Nsa Gill, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Governor Otu expressed gratitude to the outgoing vendors for their service to the state and wished them success in their future endeavors.
The Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, a Federal Government initiative launched in 2016, aims to provide nutritious meals to public school pupils, improve education outcomes, and support local agriculture. By disengaging old vendors and realigning the program’s objectives, Governor Otu seeks to enhance enrollment, reduce dropout rates, and ensure better health and nutrition for pupils in Cross River State.
The governor’s decision underscores his commitment to optimizing social welfare programs and promoting inclusive education and economic growth in the state.
