Governor Radda’s Community Watch Corps Applauded for Restoring Peace in Katsina
Residents of Katsina State are celebrating the return of peace, especially in previously volatile local government areas, thanks to Governor Umar Dikko Radda’s initiative in establishing the Community Watch Corps (CWC). Banditry activities have notably decreased by 60 percent since the launch of this impactful security initiative. Although there were challenges, such as the unfortunate demise of former caretaker chairman, Hamza Abdullahi, identified as an informant to bandits, the overall impact of the CWC has been hailed by residents. Their collaborative efforts with security operatives have significantly restored normalcy to the state. Commending the state government for this initiative, residents like Yakubu Abubakar expressed gratitude for the CWC’s contribution to enhancing security. Similarly, Muhammed Kabir, the chairman of Safana local government area, confirmed the improved security situation since the CWC’s deployment.
