Governor Abdullahi Sule has raised concerns about the widespread availability of counterfeit drugs in Nasarawa State, attributing it to economic hardships faced by residents. Addressing the public during an event in Obi where rice and cash were distributed to vulnerable Nigerians, Governor Sule announced measures to address the issue. The government has allocated ₦250 million to purchase genuine medications, which will be sold at subsidized rates in state-owned pharmacies and hospitals. Additionally, a ₦500 million support fund has been earmarked for the Nasarawa State Social Investment Agency (NSSIA) to enhance healthcare provision and ensure access to quality medical services for residents.
