Governor Umaru Bago’s Czech Republic Trip Spurs Agricultural Advancements in Niger State
Governor Umaru Bago’s visit to the Czech Republic yielded significant advancements in the agricultural sector of Niger State. During the trip, he engaged with top agricultural companies and toured the Knights a.s/Agroservis Salek manufacturing plant, where he inspected European standard tractors designed for the African Market, particularly for rice farming.
Two pivotal agreements were signed as a result:
- A 1,000-Tractor Supply Agreement: The Niger State Government and Knights a.s. of the Czech Republic penned a deal for the supply of 1,000 tractors and associated accessories, including spare parts. This collaboration also involves establishing an assembly plant in the multi-facility industrial park. The tractors will be deployed in Niger State to bolster the government’s agricultural initiatives, aiming to enhance farming practices and boost yields among small and medium-scale farmers.
- Feasibility Study for a Minna-Abuja Light Railway: Additionally, an agreement was reached to conduct a feasibility study for investing in a light railway between Minna and Abuja.
