Governor Uzodimma Champions Increased Military Budget to Safeguard South-East Region

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma advocated for a substantial increase in military budget allocation during a recent meeting with the House of Representatives Committee on Army. Recognizing the paramount importance of adequately funding defense initiatives, Governor Uzodimma emphasized the need to expand Army barracks and enhance support for military personnel and their families.
Against the backdrop of prevailing security challenges in Imo State and the wider South East region, including banditry and kidnapping, Governor Uzodimma underscored the indispensable role of the military in safeguarding lives and property. He urged the National Assembly to prioritize funding for the Army, crucial for maintaining peace and upholding democratic principles.
In response, Committee Chairman Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Mamudu affirmed the committee’s commitment to scrutinizing the Army’s budget to ensure alignment with national security priorities.
