Governor Uzodimma Commends Southeasterners for Boycotting Protest
Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, has expressed his gratitude to the people of the Southeastern States for boycotting the protest on August 1st. Governor Uzodimma noted that Southeasterners often face victimization during national uproars or agitations, such as the recent looting of shops and businesses in Northern Nigeria predominantly owned by Southeasterners.
The governor emphasized that dialogue is the only solution to addressing concerns and highlighted that the current economic challenges, which led to the protest, are not unique to the present administration. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his courage and leadership in initiating economic reforms aimed at transforming Nigeria’s economy. Governor Uzodimma appealed to all Nigerians to be patient and allow time for the President’s reforms to take effect.
