Governor Uzodimma Emphasizes Accordance with President Tinubu’s Oath Regarding Minister’s Suspension

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, highlighted the alignment of Minister Betta Edu’s suspension with President Bola Tinubu’s oath of office, emphasizing its consistency with the law and the president’s commitment.

Governor Uzodinma, speaking after a meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, urged the media to refrain from further speculation on the matter. He emphasized the importance of respecting the president’s decision and allowing the situation to rest.

“We have one president, and we cannot question his wisdom. The President’s decision to investigate allegations aligns with his oath of office. It’s not something that should be sensationalized in the media. Let’s allow the sleeping dog to lie,” Governor Uzodinma remarked.

Additionally, Governor Uzodinma reiterated the full support of APC governors for President Tinubu’s policy agenda outlined in the latest budget. He stressed the transformative potential of the outlined capital projects and reforms, expressing confidence that initial apprehensions about certain policies would diminish as their benefits become evident.

“The Progressive Governors Forum and APC governors, as well as members of the APC, are unified. Our expectations are clearly outlined in the last Appropriation Act signed by the President,” Governor Uzodinma underscored.

He further highlighted the anticipated resolution of initial concerns stemming from reform policies such as fuel subsidy removal, projecting a positive outcome as the year progresses.

Governor Uzodinma also reported Imo State’s notably peaceful Christmas in 2023, attributing it to his administration’s effective management of security issues, while indicating ongoing efforts by southeast governors regarding the release of separatist leader Nnamdi Kanu without providing specific updates.
