Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has called for continued peaceful and patriotic activities among Nigerian youths, emphasizing that their peaceful engagement is crucial for ensuring a brighter future for the country. His comments came amid a ten-day nationwide protest that has seen violence and the raising of foreign flags by some demonstrators.

During his visit to Kumo in Akko Local Government Area, where he was warmly received by youths waving the Nigerian flag, Governor Yahaya praised their commitment to peace and patriotism. He contrasted their positive display with the unrest seen elsewhere in the country, stating, “While in some places you see the flags of other countries being raised, here, you see support and love from the people. The enthusiasm and patriotism displayed by these young people today give me great hope for Nigeria’s future.”

Governor Yahaya urged Nigerians to maintain peace and harmony and assured them of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve their lives. Following recent violent protests, the governor has directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Ministry of Works and Housing to assess the damages and support affected individuals. Additionally, food palliatives are being distributed to vulnerable groups across the state to alleviate hardship.
