Governor Yahaya Affirms Gombe’s Potential to Lead Nigeria’s Food Production

During the inauguration of a private fertiliser blending plant in Kwadom community, Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State underscored the state’s vast agricultural potential, asserting its capability to feed the nation. He highlighted Gombe’s abundant arable land and human resources, which could significantly contribute to Nigeria’s food security efforts.

Governor Yahaya reiterated his administration’s commitment to bolstering the agricultural sector and creating an enabling environment to attract investors. He emphasized Gombe’s expansive land mass of approximately 20,000 square kilometers and a population nearing 3.5 million as key factors positioning the state as a potential agricultural powerhouse.

Asserting the populace’s strong agricultural inclination, Governor Yahaya emphasized the widespread engagement in farming across various strata of society. He underscored the state government’s dedication to fostering agricultural productivity to enhance livelihoods and economic prosperity.

Governor Yahaya commended Alyuma Fertiliser and Chemical Limited for establishing the blending plant in the state and assured continued support to investors willing to contribute to Gombe’s agricultural growth. With the capacity of the fertiliser blending plant and others in the state, he expressed optimism about the potential to export fertilisers to neighboring countries like Cameroon, Chad, and Niger Republics.
