Governor Zulum: Borno State Triumphs Over Boko Haram Threats
In a remarkable declaration of victory, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has declared that every community in the state is now free from Boko Haram control. This uplifting announcement was made during the governor’s meeting with Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, in Maiduguri, the state capital.
Over the years, Borno communities have endured the terror of Boko Haram insurgents. However, the tide has turned, and Borno is emerging from the shadow of these threats. The governor conveyed that about 140,000 insurgents have repented and surrendered in the last 18 months, leading to the state’s liberation from the grip of Boko Haram.
“I am pleased to inform the general public that as of now, we do not have any community that is under the control of Boko Haram in Borno,” Governor Zulum affirmed. His words carry the hope and resilience of a state that has overcome adversity.
Governor Zulum commended the role played by the Chief of Defence Staff and security forces in restoring peace to the state. He assured that his administration is fully committed to providing unwavering support to the army.
