Governor Zulum Initiates Maiduguri Ring Road Project, Approves N1.6 Billion Compensation
Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State launched the first phase of the Maiduguri Ring Road project, marking a significant milestone in the state’s transportation infrastructure and economic development efforts. The project aims to connect the Maiduguri-Kano road to the Maiduguri-Monguno road via the Maiduguri-Gubio Road, spanning approximately 113 kilometers.
The ring road project is expected to enhance connectivity, improve security, and address housing deficits within Maiduguri, ultimately boosting the state’s economic viability. Governor Zulum also approved a sum of N1.6 billion for the compensation of farmlands affected by the project, demonstrating his commitment to fair compensation and inclusive development.
During the flag-off ceremony, Governor Zulum presented a cheque worth 1 billion Naira to leaders of the affected farmland owners as the first phase of compensation, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to equitable progress and infrastructure development.
