Imo LGA Election: Governor Uzodimma Denies Endorsing Any Aspirant
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has clarified that he has not endorsed any aspirant for the upcoming local government elections scheduled for September 21, 2024. The governor’s Senior Special Adviser on Electronic and Creative Media, Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, addressed recent social media claims suggesting otherwise.
Nwaogwugwu stated, “We are compelled to correct misleading information circulating about Governor Uzodimma endorsing certain aspirants for the local government elections. There is no truth to these claims. The governor has not endorsed any candidates, either privately or publicly.”
He further explained that at a recent stakeholder meeting, Governor Uzodimma encouraged all aspirants to seek support from the electorate directly rather than relying on personal endorsements. The Governor remains committed to upholding democratic principles, ensuring a free and fair election process without influencing its outcome.
“We urge the public to disregard false claims and focus on evaluating the qualifications and issues of the aspirants as the election approaches,” Nwaogwugwu added.
