Imo State to Sponsor Christian Pilgrims as Governor Uzodimma Receives Pilgrimage Award

The Imo State Government, led by Governor Hope Uzodimma, has announced plans to sponsor another group of Christian pilgrims to the Holy Land. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to fostering religious activities and supporting believers in their spiritual journeys.

The announcement comes as Governor Uzodimma is honored with the Pilgrimage Governor of the Year 2024 award by the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC). Additionally, he has been appointed as the first Christian Pilgrimage Ambassador of Nigeria. During the award ceremony, Governor Uzodimma expressed his gratitude to the NCPC and highlighted the strong partnership between the commission and the state government, stating, “We are united in our pursuit of God’s work.”

Bishop STV Adegbite, the Executive Secretary of the NCPC, praised Governor Uzodimma for his consistent support of the Imo State chapter of the commission. He noted that Governor Uzodimma’s sponsorship of the largest number of pilgrims from the state was a significant achievement that earned him these prestigious accolades.
