Inclusive Development for Lagos: Stakeholders Engage in Lagos Island Model City Plan
Lagos State, in its unwavering commitment to inclusive development, invites stakeholders to actively participate in shaping the future landscape of Lagos Island. Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, the government has orchestrated a series of engagements aimed at crafting a Lagos Island Model City Plan that encapsulates the aspirations of all Lagosians.
Through a bottom-up approach initiated since August 2021, the preparation of this transformative plan has embraced community input, ensuring that the voices of all stakeholders are heard. The forthcoming stakeholders’ meeting, scheduled for Thursday, 7th March 2024, signifies the culmination of this collaborative effort. It serves as a pivotal platform for robust engagement, set to commence at the prestigious Agip Recital Hall of the MUSON CENTRE, Onikan, Lagos.
Dr. Olumide elucidated that the Lagos Island Model City Plan is intricately designed to leverage the unique attributes of the area, propelling sustainable growth and socio-economic development. With the collective wisdom and input of stakeholders, Lagos is poised to emerge as the preferred investment destination in sub-Saharan Africa, fostering prosperity for all.
