IRC and Yobe Government Commemorate IWD with Student and Vulnerable Women Groups

In collaboration with the Yobe State Government, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and other partners celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) 2024. With the theme “Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress,” the event aimed to empower women and foster inclusivity. Keynote speaker Florence Onah emphasized the importance of women in leadership roles and creating inclusive work environments to drive societal progress.

Reproductive Health Coordinator Mairo Yakubu Hassan highlighted the need for women to be given equal opportunities in leadership and employment. She urged organizations to prioritize gender equality and provide platforms for women’s participation and contribution to development.
