Jigawa Fire Service Reports Life-Saving Efforts

Jigawa Fire Service Directorate has reported significant efforts in saving lives and property during 2023. The Director, Ibrahim Gumel, mentioned that the fire service responded to 160 fire calls and 45 rescue calls across the state. They successfully saved 250 lives and property estimated at over N755 million. However, 50 lives and property worth over N215 million were lost in various incidents during the same period. The director emphasized the need for residents to exercise caution with inflammable materials, and the fire service will continue to educate the public on fire risks, particularly during harmattan season.
