Kaduna abduction: 137 schoolchildren abducted, not 287 — Gov Sani

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State clarified that 137 schoolchildren were abducted from Kuriga in the Chikun Local Government Area, contrary to earlier reports of 287 abducted children. In an interview on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics, Governor Sani confirmed the rescue of all abducted schoolchildren by the military, in collaboration with local authorities from neighbouring Zamfara State. The Defence Headquarters corroborated the rescue operation, confirming the successful retrieval of 137 students. However, Governor Sani expressed sorrow over the loss of a teacher who passed away due to complications while in captivity. He offered condolences to the family of the deceased teacher and extended consolation to the families of the released schoolchildren.
