Kaduna Warns LGs of Impending Flood, Urges Residents to Relocate
The Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) has issued a flood warning to seven Local Government Areas (LGAs) due to continuous torrential rainfall. Dr. Usman Mazadu, the Executive Secretary of KADSEMA, advised residents living near waterways to move to higher ground to avoid potential flood hazards. LGAs at risk include Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Chikun, Igabi, Sanga, Kagarko, and Jema’a. The Agency emphasized the importance of preparedness and vigilance during the peak of the rainy season, as overflowing rivers could cause widespread flooding. Residents were urged to prioritize their safety and evacuate vulnerable areas.
