Katsina Lawmaker Encourages Civic Engagement to Enhance Security
Samaila Bawa, the Member Representing Faskari Constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly, has delivered a resounding call to action, urging the people of Katsina to actively participate in safeguarding their communities. He emphasized the significance of civic rights and responsibilities in tandem with the efforts of Governor Umar Dikko Radda to ensure the safety and security of all citizens in the State.
This message was conveyed during a visit to Tafoki Ward, where Samaila Bawa interacted with the local residents and issued his statement on Tuesday. Bawa underscored that Governor Radda’s recent recruitment and launch of the Katsina State Community Watch Corp were a rapid response to the security challenges facing the state, which were impeding its development and progress.
The lawmaker urged citizens to provide support and understanding to the officers and personnel of the Katsina State Community Watch Corp, enabling them to respond promptly to security issues. Bawa articulated the necessity of staying vigilant, monitoring strangers in their communities, and refraining from spreading baseless rumors. He urged individuals to share valuable information with the appropriate authorities, emphasizing that every household and neighborhood should actively participate in their civic duties to enhance collective security.
