Katsina’s Strategic Push to Boost School Enrollment Yields Positive Results
Katsina State has intensified efforts to ensure that every eligible child is enrolled in school, as demonstrated by a two-day capacity-building workshop focused on new strategies for increasing school enrollment. This initiative, part of a broader campaign to mobilize parents and stakeholders, aims to significantly improve the state’s educational sector, which has seen substantial progress over the past two years.
Under the leadership of the Katsina State Government, there has been a remarkable increase in school enrollment, retention, and completion rates. These positive trends have attracted World Bank interventions, further enhancing the state’s educational infrastructure and the capacity of teachers and administrators.
The workshop, organized by the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in collaboration with the World Bank-assisted Agile Project, emphasizes the importance of enrolling more school-aged children at all levels. Stakeholders shared their experiences and discussed challenges that still hinder some parents from enrolling their children, underscoring the need for continued efforts.
The state government’s commitment to constructing and renovating schools is proving effective, especially as the enrollment drive gains momentum across the state. These initiatives are laying a solid foundation for the future of education in Katsina, ensuring that every child has access to quality education.
