Kebbi Governor Prioritizes Safety and Welfare for Corp Members

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, has extended his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in the state. Speaking during the Swearing-in Ceremony of the 2023 Batch “C” Stream 1 Orientation Course for corp members at the Dakingari Orientation Camp in Suru Local Government, Governor Idris assured them of a secure and supportive environment.

Kebbi State is renowned for its peaceful atmosphere, welcoming people of all backgrounds, regardless of religious or ethnic differences. The governor emphasized that corp members’ safety is well-assured, with various security agencies in the state directed to double their efforts in providing maximum security to them.

In addition to safety, Governor Idris stressed that the State Government is fully committed to ensuring the general welfare of corp members throughout their service. Measures have been put in place to motivate and support corp members posted to various parts of the state.

He congratulated the corp members for their academic achievements and encouraged them to view their National Service as a remarkable turning point in their lives, where they can contribute to the development of their country. Governor Idris reminded them of the NYSC’s role in preparing youth for leadership and urged them to be steadfast in their efforts to achieve the scheme’s noble objectives.

The governor also called on corp members to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors who have contributed significantly to the state’s development, particularly in areas like environmental sanitation and education. By working hard and upholding the ideals of unity, they can continue to raise the flag of unity in the “Land of Equity.”

This positive and supportive message was delivered at the Swearing-in Ceremony by the Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, SSG Yakubu Bala Tafida, representing Governor Idris. The event marked the official opening and swearing-in ceremony of the 2023 Batch “C” Stream 1 Corps Members in Kebbi State.

The Kebbi NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Okolo Agatha Banki, expressed her gratitude to the governor for his support of the NYSC in the state and appealed for continued assistance. In total, 1,572 corp members were sworn in to serve in Kebbi State, with an additional 247 corp members from Zamfara State also participating due to security concerns in their state. Governor Idris’ dedication to the welfare and safety of corp members is a testament to his leadership and commitment to their well-being.
