Kebbi State Government Reaffirms Support for Higher Education Institutions
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting higher education institutions, including the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), in their mission to provide quality education. This assurance was conveyed during a courtesy visit by the Governing Council of FUBK to the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
Represented by his deputy, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, Governor Idris highlighted the administration’s dedication to education, underscoring its vital role in societal development. As a former teacher, the governor emphasized that education remains a cornerstone of success and pledged continued support to the university in achieving its core objectives.
The governor also recognized the strong partnership between the state government and FUBK, noting that directives had been issued to expedite the certification of the university’s land, a key step in facilitating the institution’s growth and development.
In response, Alhaji Abubakar Jatau, Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of FUBK’s Governing Council, expressed gratitude for the state’s consistent support. He highlighted the significant contributions made by the government, including the donation of land for the university and additional land pending certification, which will further enhance the university’s capacity to serve the educational needs of the region.
