Kebbi State Governor Appoints New Permanent Secretaries and Reposts Others

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has demonstrated his commitment to efficient governance by approving the appointment of 21 new permanent secretaries and the reposting of 34 others. This initiative is in line with the Governor’s campaign promises to fill existing vacancies and ensure that appointments reflect all local government areas of the state.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Kebbi State Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena, and released to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi. The statement emphasized that this move aims to abrogate all acting appointments and address the vacancies left by retirees, thereby enhancing administrative efficiency.

The newly appointed permanent secretaries are Abubakar Magaji Nayilwa, Malami A. Maiyama, Dr. Nasiru Garba, Hafsatu Ibrahim Tuni, Bello Yahaya Geza, Muhammad Umar Tilli, Habibu Sabi Kamba, Hussaini Abdullahi Zuru, Arc. Musa S. Sakaba, Umar Muhammad Koko, Isah Umar Gwandu, Dr. Suwaiba Salihu, Muhammad Arzika Aliero, Kabiru Labbo Jega, and Alkasim Salihu Gunabi. Others include Aliyu Dauda Zagga, Ramatu Usman Dabai, Aminu Shehu, Faruku Muhammad Kigo, Muhammad A. Bala, and Ahmad Arzika Mungadi.

The 34 permanent secretaries affected by the reposting exercise include Aisha Usman (Ministry for Budget), Malami Muhammad Shekare (Ministry for Water Resources), Dahiru Zaki (Cabinet Office to Government House), Aishatu Maikurata (Ministry for Women Affairs to Ministry for Local Government), Ahmad Yarima (Commerce), Kudirat Shuaibu Diri (Environment), Suleiman Sani Augie (General Administration), Saidu Buhari Wara (Ministry for Information), Kabiru Aliyu SAN (Ministry for Justice), and Aliyu Labaran (Special Services). Additional postings include Abubakar Ahmed (Ministry for Lands and Housing), Dr. Shehu Nuhu Koko (Ministry for Health), Muhammad Sagir Haliru (Directorate of Protocol), Abubakar Magaji Nayilwa (Ministry for Basic Education), Malami A. Maiyama (Ministry for Establishment), Dr. Nasir Garba (Cabinet Affairs), Hafsatu Ibrahim Tuni (Physical Planning), Bello Yahaya Geza (Ministry for Solid Minerals), Muhammad Umar Tilli (Ministry for Youths and Sports), Habibu Muhammad Sabi Kamba (Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport), Hussaini Abdullahi Zuru (Ministry for Higher Education), Arch. The statement directs the affected officers to prepare their handing-over notes and report to their new stations on or before August 7, 2024. This strategic reshuffling is expected to bolster the state’s administrative framework and drive the Governor’s vision for inclusive and effective governance.
