Kogi Government Evicts Illegal Squatters and Traders Under Ganaja Flyover
The Kogi State Government has initiated the eviction of illegal squatters and traders residing under the Ganaja flyover bridge. Led by the Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management, in collaboration with the State Sanitation and Waste Management Board, the operation aims to restore cleanliness and order to the area.
Commissioner Joseph Oluwasegun Stephen emphasized the importance of maintaining environmental standards and public safety. He warned against encroaching activities under the flyover, stressing the government’s commitment to upholding environmental integrity.
Director Hajia Ramatu Omale reiterated the ministry’s dedication to ensuring a clean and healthy environment across the state. The use of seal tape as a cautionary measure signifies restrictions on further encroachment, with additional enforcement actions anticipated.
General Manager Femi Ajayi emphasized the strategic significance of the flyover location and affirmed the government’s resolve to deter unlawful activities in public spaces. The eviction serves as a warning to potential offenders, underlining the government’s proactive stance on environmental preservation.
