Kogi State Government Urges Compliance with Land Allocation Protocols
The Kogi State Bureau of Land and Urban Development (BLUD) has issued a stern warning to communities within the state’s 16 kilometers radius, urging them to refrain from unauthorized land allocation.
Alhaji Samari Teina Abdulmalik, the Director-General of BLUD, emphasized this directive during a stakeholders’ meeting on land administration at the Government House, Lokoja.
While assuring communities of fair compensation for acquired land, Abdulmalik reiterated the government’s authority over land allocation within the specified radius. He stressed the importance of adherence to the Land Use Act and Kogi State Law to avoid sanctions.
Traditional leaders, including the Olu of Oworo and the Olu of Akpata-Oworo, lauded the government’s intervention and called for resolution of land disputes hindering development. They urged communities to embrace government initiatives for sustainable development.
Acknowledging the significance of land ownership, the leaders appealed for equitable development in rural areas, emphasizing the need for basic amenities like roads and electricity to foster growth.
