Kogi State Government Warns School Principals Against Sabotaging WAEC Payment Scheme
The Kogi State Government has issued a warning to principals of public secondary schools, cautioning against sabotaging the scheme aimed at paying West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) fees for final-year students. Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Wemi Jones, delivered the warning during the verification of government-sponsored 2024 WAEC candidates at Bishop Delisles College, Lokoja.
Governor Yahaya Bello had previously approved the disbursement of N497 million for WAEC fees for students in the state’s public schools. Commissioner Jones urged school principals to cooperate with the government for the successful implementation of the payment program. He emphasized the importance of accurate student figures for effective planning and administration. The commissioner reassured the commitment of the government to pay for WAEC, JAMB, and other internal examination fees.
