Kwara State Government Applauds Marie Stopes International for Reproductive Health Contributions

The Kwara State Government has praised Marie Stopes International for its outstanding contributions to reproductive health interventions in the state. The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, expressed the government’s gratitude during a one-day stakeholders meeting at the Ministry of Health in Ilorin.

Dr. El-Imam reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to creating a conducive environment for development partners like Marie Stopes International, ensuring continued support for their vital work. She emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining high-quality healthcare services even after donor programs conclude, underscoring the importance of sustainability in healthcare initiatives.

The Country Director of Marie Stopes International, Mr. Emmanuel Ajah, represented by Mr. Faloye Abimbola, expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support provided by the Kwara State Government, which has significantly contributed to the organization’s success. He also called for continued collaboration to attract further advancements in the state’s health sector.

The stakeholders meeting was attended by key health officials, including directors from the State Ministry of Health, a representative from the Primary Health Care Development Agency, and various heads of units and program officers. The event highlighted the state’s collaborative efforts in ensuring the improvement of reproductive health services and the well-being of its citizens.
