Kwara State Government Champions Anti-Drug Campaign with LG Administrators Seminar
The Kwara State Government has taken a proactive step in combating drug abuse by organizing a two-day training seminar for Local Government Administrators, Non-Governmental Organizations, and Youth Organizations, among others in the State. The event, flagged off by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Mamman Saba Jubril, signifies a collective effort to safeguard the future of the state.
In his address, Prof. Jubril reiterated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s commitment to the program, showcasing the administration’s dedication to building the capacity of local government councils. The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Bata, lauded the workshop’s success and attributed it to Governor AbdulRazaq’s visionary leadership.
The seminar, attended by various stakeholders, aims to address the increasing wave of drug abuse in society. The Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government and ALGON Chairman, Hon. Jide Ashonibare, expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRazaq for his non-interference stance and support in providing dividends of democracy to the people.
In his welcome address, the State Commandant of the NDLEA, Alhaji Muhammed Bashir Ibrahim, emphasized the importance of community involvement in combating drug abuse. The event serves as a platform to empower local administrators in spearheading the campaign against illicit drug usage at the grassroots level.
