Kwara State Government Clears N3bn Salary Arrears, Empowers Teachers and LG Workers
In a remarkable display of commitment to its workforce, the Kwara State Government has successfully eradicated all outstanding salary arrears inherited from the previous administration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed. The administration, under the dynamic leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has prioritized the welfare of teachers and local government workers, ensuring their financial security and well-being.
Upon a thorough review of financial allocations, the government allocated a substantial sum of N1,297,389,165.83 towards settling the arrears owed to SUBEB teachers, and an additional N1,622,673,992.12 to clear the balances for local government workers. This decisive action demonstrates the government’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling its obligations and uplifting the livelihoods of its dedicated workforce.
Furthermore, as a testament to its proactive approach to employee welfare, the government has authorized the implementation of the 2022 promotion for teaching and non-teaching staff of SUBEB. This initiative not only recognizes the hard work and dedication of educators but also injects additional purchasing power into the economy, fostering growth and prosperity for all.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s pledge to address inherited salary and promotion arrears has been steadfastly upheld since assuming office in 2019. With the final settlement of these longstanding issues, the government has brought closure to years of agitation and uncertainty, instilling confidence and stability in the workforce.
