Kwara State Governor Charges NYSC Members on Discipline and Commitment
At the swearing-in ceremony of the Batch ‘C’, Stream 2 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Kwara State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq emphasized the importance of honesty, hard work, and discipline. The ceremony, held at the NYSC orientation Camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area, witnessed the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Adebara, represented by Justice Helen Ajayi, administering the “NYSC Oath of Allegiance” to the corps members.
Addressing the newly inducted members, Governor AbdulRazaq, represented by Alh. Saadu Salahu, his Senior Adviser and Counsellor, welcomed them to Kwara State and urged them to channel their skills towards national development by being active and disciplined. He encouraged them to uphold the vision of the NYSC scheme’s founders, striving for Nigeria’s growth and development.
Additionally, the Minister of State Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Hon Ayodele Olawale, visited the Kwara State NYSC Orientation Camp at Yikpata. He assured the corps members of government’s continuous support, emphasizing improvements to camp facilities and the standard of training for corps members.
Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, overseeing the Ministry of Youths Development, thanked the Governor for his unwavering support to the NYSC scheme in Kwara State. He urged the corps members to embrace humility, discipline, and commitment, complementing the efforts of the NYSC.
The State Coordinator for the NYSC, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, lauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support and urged corps members to abide by camp rules while informing them of planned activities during their service year. He announced the induction of 2,150 Corps members at the Yikpata camp, urging adherence to camp regulations for a conducive and disciplined environment.
