Kwara State’s 2023 Budget Soars to New Heights
In a remarkable move towards progress, the Kwara State Executive Council has given the green light to a revised 2023 budget totaling an impressive N239,084,199,757.00. Capital expenditure takes the lead at 50.2%, emphasizing economic growth, while recurrent expenditure stands at 49.8%. This revised budget marks a substantial 27% increase of N50,238,596,196.00 compared to the original approval by the House.
This significant milestone follows months of careful planning, extensive reviews, and collaborative efforts from various government departments. Commissioner Lafia Sabi stressed the importance of capital projects to stimulate the state’s economy and enhance the standard of living for its people. Moreover, the council’s decision to entrust Star Sewing Machine Limited, an international firm, with managing the State’s Garment Factory demonstrates a commitment to fostering economic development.
