KwaraLEARN Marks 2nd Anniversary Amid Stakeholders’ Applause, Improved Learning Outcomes
Kwara State’s groundbreaking KwaraLEARN initiative, driven by technology and designed to reform basic education, celebrated its second anniversary with impressive strides in learning outcomes and significant enrollment growth. Laide Abel, Managing Director of KwaraLEARN, announced that the program has successfully increased student enrollment from 120,000 to 180,000 within two years, while improving literacy and numeracy skills by over 50%.
KwaraLEARN, short for Kwara State Leading Education Achievement and Reform Now, has transformed the education landscape with modern technology empowering teachers and enhancing learning. At a stakeholders’ retreat marking the milestone, various departments shared their field experiences, highlighting how the initiative has boosted classroom attendance and reduced absenteeism by 50%.
Attendees, including top state officials like the Commissioner for Education, Sa’adatu Moddibo Kawu, and the Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Hon. Muhammed Baba Salahu, commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his continued investment in education. They praised the program’s effectiveness in reversing the negative trends of the past, with Hon. Baba acknowledging it as a vital part of the state’s educational reform efforts.
Stakeholders emphasized that while there is still work to be done, KwaraLEARN has laid a strong foundation for continued success in the state’s education sector.
