KWASU Begins Academic Activities at Ilesha-Baruba and Osi Campuses
The Kwara State University (KWASU) is set to commence academic activities for over 1,200 students from the Faculty of Agriculture and 180 students from the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at its newly established campuses in Ilesha-Baruba and Osi. The university, through a statement by its Acting Director of University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, confirmed that the 2024-2025 academic year would mark the beginning of classes in these new locations.
During a tour of the campuses, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University Council, Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali, visited the palaces of the Emir of Ilesha-Baruba, HRH Professor Halidu Abubakar, and the Oba of Osi, HRH Oba Salihu Abdulkareem Adasofegbe Arowobeku I. Professor Ambali expressed satisfaction with the progress of ongoing construction work and reaffirmed the commitment of both the state government and KWASU management to the timely start of academic programs.
The establishment of these campuses is expected to fulfill the aspirations of the local communities, bringing significant educational and economic development to the regions. The university’s expansion is seen as a vital step in enhancing access to higher education and contributing to the overall growth of the state.
