Labour Praises Governor Aiyedatiwa for Easter Celebrations in Ondo State
As Christians worldwide commemorate Easter Monday, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, labour leaders in Ondo State extend their gratitude to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for ensuring a joyous and stress-free Easter season for workers.
Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Victor Amoko, and his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart, Comrade Clement Fatuase, laud Governor Aiyedatiwa for the timely payment of March salaries and the additional N35,000 wage award to civil servants. This gesture, they affirm, has significantly contributed to societal stability despite prevailing economic challenges.
The early disbursement of salaries not only benefited workers but also spurred economic activity, evident in increased market sales as shoppers took advantage of the festive period to purchase essentials. Traders express gratitude for the boost in business resulting from the increased purchasing power of civil servants.
Describing Governor Aiyedatiwa as “workers friendly” and proactive in addressing labour issues, Comrade Amoko and Comrade Fatuase commend the governor for his commitment to good governance, which continues to yield dividends for workers in Ondo State.
In stark contrast, some states grapple with Easter celebrations marred by delayed salary payments or the absence of wage awards, highlighting the significance of proactive leadership and worker-friendly policies exemplified by Governor Aiyedatiwa.
