The Lagos Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has intensified its advocacy efforts against sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) by engaging with residents and the Community Development Council (CDC) in Ikorodu. At the recent interactive session, DSVA’s Ms. Adetoun Odumbo addressed the community on recognizing and reporting domestic violence, emphasizing the importance of collective action in combating these crimes.

Odumbo outlined various forms of domestic violence and encouraged prompt reporting of suspected cases to authorities. She stressed that community leaders should set an example by actively reporting abuses, as failing to do so is illegal. Additionally, the DSVA provided information on support services and a toll-free hotline (08000333333) for reporting cases. Educational materials were distributed to help raise awareness and support for victims, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to addressing and preventing domestic and sexual violence in Lagos State.
