Lagos DSVA Hosts Delegates from FCT and Abia States
Delegates from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Women Affairs Secretariat and the Abia State Ministry of Women Affairs visited Lagos on Wednesday to learn from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA). The Executive Secretary, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, outlined the agency’s history and the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach to tackling domestic and sexual violence. She acknowledged the support from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem Alogba, and the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Obasa.
Dr. (Mrs) Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi of the FCT Women Affairs Secretariat and Mrs. Ngozi Blessing Felix from Abia State praised the DSVA’s model and expressed eagerness to replicate its success in their regions. They highlighted ongoing efforts to drive behavioral changes and emphasized the need for continued political will. The delegation toured the DSVA facilities and engaged with various departments to gain insights into the agency’s operations and services.
