Lagos Government’s Swift Action Rescues Minors from Neglect
The Lagos State Government, through the proactive efforts of the Office of the Public Defender (OPD), successfully rescued two minors, aged four years (male) and 15 months (female), who were unfortunately neglected by their father in the Awoyaya area of Lagos.
Responding to an SOS sent by compassionate Good Samaritans through its Facebook platform, the OPD acted swiftly to rescue the children from a situation of neglect and physical abuse. Mrs. Olubunmi Adesomoju, the Director of OPD, lauded the collaborative efforts of the rescue team and the police in ensuring the immediate safety of the minors.
The children are now under the necessary medical care and placed in safe custody, thanks to the decisive intervention by the OPD. Mrs. Adesomoju expressed heartfelt appreciation to the concerned citizens who reported the plight of the minors, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious cases of domestic abuse through the agency’s Toll-Free No: 07080601080 or Email Address: opdlagos@gmail.com, with the assurance of utmost confidentiality.
