Acknowledging the contributions of Hon. Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun of the Supreme Court, Governor Sanwo-Olu lauds her efforts in promoting women’s leadership and sustaining platforms for professional development.

Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem Alogba, echoes the sentiment of progress, citing recent milestones achieved by female legal professionals. He highlights the success of Lawal Aminat Odunayo, the Overall Best Student of the Year from the Nigerian Law School, as a testament to women’s excellence in the legal field.

In her address, Justice Kekere-Ekun underscores the persistent challenges faced by women in the profession, including domestic responsibilities, gender bias, and limited mentorship opportunities. She emphasizes the importance of leveraging innate skills and multitasking abilities to drive nation-building initiatives.

Justice Kekere-Ekun reveals collaborative efforts with international partners to support sustainable leadership pathways for women, exemplified by the Women In Leadership In Law (WILIL) initiative. She anticipates that workshops like the South-West Zonal Workshop will generate solutions tailored to local contexts, ultimately enhancing women’s representation in the judiciary and beyond.
