Lagos State Empowers Citizens and Encourages Commitment to Service

In a demonstration of commitment to the well-being of its citizens, the Lagos State Government, under the ‘Sanwo-Olu Cares, Sanwo-Olu Listens’ Financial Assistance Programme, provided financial aid to 545 indigent Lagosians. Dr. Tajudeen Afolabi, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor, highlighted the government’s dedication to supporting vulnerable citizens, addressing financial constraints, and improving the quality of life for recipients and their families. The office is actively attending to numerous letters requesting financial assistance, showcasing the government’s responsiveness.

In another social intervention effort, the Mother, Infant & Child Development Programme targets indigent pregnant mothers, providing essential nutrients and healthcare services for proper development. The initiatives reflect the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to social welfare and healthcare.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu urged civil servants to recommit to efficient and effective service delivery during the annual interdenominational thanksgiving service for the Lagos State Public Service Week. The governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, emphasized the significant contributions of civil servants to the success of his administration. Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving staff welfare, providing a conducive work environment, and recognizing hard work. The service, attended by the First Lady, Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Head of Service, and other dignitaries, emphasized the theme, “A Transformed Life for a Greater Service.”

The Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, commended workers for their diligence and called for selfless service in support of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda. The Guest Minister, Prof. Samuel Daramola, urged public servants to be upright and Godly in their dealings, recognizing their role as the engine of development. Prayers were offered for Lagos State, Nigeria, Governor Sanwo-Olu, the legislature, judiciary, and all public servants during the thanksgiving service.
