Lagos State Government Cracks Down on Highway Crossing and Illegal Trading

The Lagos State Government, through its Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), commonly known as KAI, has arrested 63 individuals for crossing highways and engaging in illegal street trading. Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, announced this development, stating that the offenders will face trial in accordance with the Lagos State Environmental Management Law of 2017.

The crackdown on highway crossing and illegal trading underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining orderliness and safety on Lagos roads. By enforcing relevant laws and regulations, the government aims to curb activities that pose risks to pedestrians and motorists while promoting a conducive environment for commerce.
