Lagos State Government Enhances Public Service Efficiency with Training for Statisticians
The Lagos State Government, through its Ministry of Establishments and Training, has taken a significant step towards enhancing the efficiency of its public service by organizing a specialized training program for Planning, Research, and Statistics Officers. This initiative, aimed at optimizing resource allocation for impactful planning and statistical activities, reflects the government’s commitment to fostering a more competent and efficient civil service.
The one-day training program, held at the State Treasury Office (STO) Resource Centre in Alausa, was themed “Effective Budgeting and Budgetary Control for Planning, Research, and Statistics Officers.” It was designed to equip officers with the necessary tools to improve the quality of research, planning, and policy formulation within the State Civil Service.
Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, represented by the Director of Training, Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, emphasized the importance of expertise in public service roles. She encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained from the training to enhance their daily work, thereby contributing to more effective governance in Lagos State.
The opening ceremony also saw the attendance of key officials, including the Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Dele Balogun, and the Director of Establishments, Mrs. Bukonla Olagbaju, underscoring the significance of the training program in building a more capable and dynamic public service workforce.
This initiative highlights the Lagos State Government’s dedication to continuous improvement and capacity building within its public service, ensuring that the state remains a leader in efficient governance and service delivery.
