Lagos State Government Introduces 10-Minute Building Permit System to Boost Efficiency

In a move to revolutionize urban planning, the Lagos State Government has launched an Electronic Physical Planning Permit System, enabling building approvals in just 10 minutes. Dr Olajide Babatunde, the Special Adviser for e-GIS and Urban Development, announced this initiative during a ministerial briefing marking the first year of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term. The system aims to streamline processes, ensuring efficiency for stakeholders. The government’s commitment to digital governance and efficient urban planning is evident in the strategic implementation of the e-GIS project, which has gained momentum since 2021. Through engagement with stakeholders and the public, Lagos State aims to become a leader in digital governance and urban planning, fostering a better understanding of the benefits of this innovative system.
