Lagos State Launches STARS Initiative to Recognize Sports Talents
The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) introduced the Sports Talents & Athletes Redefining Success (STARS) initiative to honor exceptional talent in the state. This program will encompass various recognition and support mechanisms, including celebrating athletes across diverse sports disciplines and acknowledging the contributions of coaches, trainers, administrators, and other stakeholders. STARS aims to discover and develop promising sports talents to help them reach their full potential. Lekan Fatodu, the director-general of LSSC, emphasized that the initiative would shine a spotlight on individuals and teams redefining success and contributing to the state’s sporting excellence, in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to enhancing sports in Lagos.
