Lagos State Presents 72-Hour Greater Lagos Fiesta: A Spectacular Countdown to 2024
The Lagos State Government, led by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, has unveiled an exhilarating 72-hour #Greater Lagos Fiesta scheduled from December 29, 2023, to January 1, 2024, to ring in the New Year with non-stop entertainment and festivities.
Announced by Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, the State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, the event aims to host over 25,000 participants indulging in diverse entertainment, including cultural performances and children’s activities. This extravaganza is a strategic move to promote the state’s beach tourism potential.
The Commissioner highlighted the shift of the grand finale from Eko Atlantic City to Sol Beach in Iru-land, intending to showcase Lagos’s rich beachfront to enthusiasts and tourists. For those preferring the Eko Atlantic City venue, arrangements for live transmission on a large screen and dedicated DSTV channel broadcasting the Sol Beach activities are in place.
Assuring attendees of security measures, the Commissioner emphasized the government’s collaboration with various security agencies to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. With an aim to position Lagos favorably in global tourism and entertainment, this event symbolizes the city’s vibrant spirit and cultural diversity.
Additionally, the Commissioner stressed that the #Greater Lagos Fiesta goes beyond music, highlighting its focus on showcasing local cuisine, arts, crafts, and traditional performances. The event will also serve as a platform to nurture young talents, curbing youth restiveness during the festive period.
This three-day extravaganza across multiple venues – Badagry Grammar School, Agege Stadium, Ikorodu Town Hall, Sol Beach Oniru, and Epe Recreational Centre – promises to feature a blend of local and international music sensations, contributing positively to the State’s economy through increased sales of goods and services.
