Lagos State Sponsors 47 Officers to National Mentoring Conference in Abuja

The Lagos State Government has showcased its dedication to advancing the professional development of its public servants by sponsoring 47 officers to attend the National Mentoring Conference held in Abuja.

The conference, themed “Driving National Transformation and Value Re-Orientation Through Mentoring,” was organized by the Mentoring and Career Development Institute of Nigeria (MCDI). The two-day event featured a range of activities, including a keynote address, panel discussions, a master class, and a tour of the Abuja city center
The keynote address was delivered by Professor Oluwafunmilayo Para-Mallam, Chairperson of the African Women’s Leadership Network, and focused on the conference’s theme. The panel discussion explored the integration of mentoring as a tool for reforming Nigeria’s educational system.

Ms. Chizoba Mojekwu, former Director of Human Resources at Guinness Nigeria Limited, facilitated the master class titled “Mentoring: Catalyst for Career Development.” The session provided valuable insights into how mentoring can accelerate career growth.

The officers sponsored, who are directors and management-level personnel from various departments, are anticipated to leverage the knowledge and skills gained at the conference to enhance their professional capabilities and contribute to the excellence of Lagos State’s public service.
