Lagos State to Collaborate for a 25-Year Ports Master Plan
In a bid to revitalize and revolutionize maritime infrastructure, the Lagos State Government reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and other key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive 25-year National Ports Master Plan.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu underscored the significance of this master plan during the Stakeholders Workshop organized by the NPA in Lagos, represented at the event by Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transportation.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized the pivotal role of the master plan in guiding the strategic location, sizes, and activities of ports and jetties. He stressed its potential to significantly bolster economic growth on a national scale, indicating a holistic approach to enhance maritime infrastructure across the region.
The statement by Mrs. Bolanle Ogunlola, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation, reiterated the state government’s dedication to fostering collaborative efforts aimed at transforming the maritime sector. The commitment to this master plan signifies a forward-looking vision to facilitate sustainable growth and development within the maritime industry for the betterment of Lagos State and the nation as a whole.
